Things to do

Places to go on the water

Around Vancouver, north to Bella Bella and into the sheltered sounds of Vancouver Island’s west coast. We only sell trips on waters we know, with boats and crews we’ve been out with.

The places for each are being added. Until then, tell us what you’d like and we’ll plan it. Plan a day →

Ways to play

  • Salmon & bottom fishing — Drop a line for salmon, lingcod or rockfish with a captain who knows the water.
  • Crabbing & prawning — Set a trap, wait, pull it up. The easiest catch for a first trip.
  • Whale watching — Humpbacks and orcas in the Salish Sea, at the distance the law sets.
  • Sunset & city harbour — The city skyline from the water, best in the last hour of light.
  • Fjords & waterfalls — Mountains straight out of the sea and falls you can only reach by boat.
  • Island hopping & lunch — Tie up at an island, walk the village, eat, move on.
  • Wineries, farms & markets by boat — Arrive by water where everyone else drove.
  • Anchor, swim & paddle — Find a quiet cove, drop anchor, get in the water.
  • Celebrations on board — Birthdays, proposals, a team day: the boat is the room.
  • Your catch, cooked — What you caught that morning, cooked that afternoon.
  • Multi-day voyages — Sleep aboard or ashore and go where a day trip can't: Desolation Sound, the Broughtons, up to Bella Bella.
