Questions
See all questions →- What is Yahull?
Yahull is an AI-native platform for complete days on the water — birthdays, proposals, fishing trips, family gatherings and team days. Our AI plans every detail with you, prices every piece in the open and coordinates boats, captains and local specialists from start to finish.
- Is Yahull a boat tour or yacht rental company?
No. Yahull is an AI-native platform that plans and delivers complete days on the water.
- Who is Yara?
Yara is Yahull's AI planner. She shapes your day with you, prices every piece, and sends everything you need before you head out.
- Can I just book a boat?
Yes. And if you'd like more — food, music, flowers, a photographer — Yara adds it to the same plan, with one total and one payment.
- Where can I plan with Yahull?
Anywhere. Yara plans with you from wherever you are, in your language.
- Can I plan in another language?
Yes. Yara plans with you in the language you're most comfortable with, at any hour.
- What does "played, checked and priced" mean?
Every boat, captain and specialist on Yahull has been out on real days with us, checked in person and priced piece by piece before anything goes on sale. We only offer what we've played.
- How does pricing work?
Every piece of your day has its own price: boat and captain, food, drinks, decorations, music, photography and so on. Add or remove pieces and the total changes.
- What do the stars mean?
Like a hotel's stars, they tell you what to expect before you go. Yahull rates every boat with a star rating from 1 to 5 under its own standard, the YaHull Vessel Star™ — from 1★ Essential to 5★ Lifestyle.
- How does booking by star work?
You book a star rating, and your boat for the day comes from that class — so whichever boat it is, it meets the same standard.
- Who will be on the water with us?
Local captains and crews who know these waters best — and any specialists you've chosen for your day: a photographer, a chef, musicians.
- What can I add to my day?
Catering, drinks, cakes, decorations and flowers, live music, a photographer or videographer with a drone, fishing, water toys and more. Have something else in mind?
- Can I see a day you've run?
Yes — start with Stella's birthday: three boats, a band on the water, and a surprise catch at just the right moment.
- What should I bring?
Layers, comfortable flat shoes and your BC tidal waters fishing licence, which takes a few minutes to buy online from Fisheries and Oceans Canada. Rods, tackle and bait are usually on board.
- What will we fish for?
Salmon is the headline in these waters. Each trip page lists its target species and season — we don't promise fish that aren't running.
- Is the gear included?
The "What's included" section on each trip page says exactly what's on board. On most charters, rods, tackle and bait are provided.
- I've never fished. Can I come?
Absolutely. The crew rigs, coaches, and nets — you fish.
- When is whale season?
Something is moving in these waters most of the year; each trip page states its own season and what you're most likely to meet in it.
- Will we definitely see whales?
No — wildlife is wild, and we won't pretend otherwise. The trip page states plainly what happens if the animals don't show.
- What should I bring?
Layers. It's always cooler on the water than at the dock — a windproof jacket earns its place even in July.
- Can kids come?
Most wildlife trips are family outings at heart. Each trip page notes ages and any limits.
- What does a private charter include?
The boat, the captain, and your route — the trip page lists the rest, and we'll shape the day with you.
- Can we celebrate on board?
Birthdays, proposals, family reunions — yes, and often. Tell us the occasion when you ask and we'll take it from there.
- How long is a trip?
From a couple of hours in the harbour to a full day out — each trip page states its duration.
- Will I get seasick?
Many of our waters are sheltered, and captains route around the worst of it. If you're prone, pick a harbour or inlet trip and take your usual remedy before boarding.
- What should I wear?
Flat, grippy shoes and layers. Skip the heels; bring the camera.
- What is crewopen?
The community side of Yahull — free gatherings on these same waters, hosted by real boat owners and crews. It's where the stories on our trip pages come from.
