Run before, on this boat
A fast afternoon for eight
For a small group that likes a bit of speed.
Aboard Sea Dart · Axopar 37 · 4 hours · up to 8 · Coal Harbour Public Dock
$3,150 CAD — for your group — based on the price this day ran at
How the day runs
- · Start — Meet your captain at the dock. Rods, tackle, bait and safety gear are on board.
- · First hour — Run out to where the fish have been lately; your captain picks the grounds by tide and season.
- · Most of the day — Fish. Your captain sets the lines, shows you how, and moves if it goes quiet.
- · Last hour — Head back. Keepers are cleaned and bagged at the dock for you to take home.
Your captain decides where you fish, what you fish for and which fish you can keep — following the DFO rules in force on the day. Rules change through the season; your captain has the final say.
Your BC tidal waters sport fishing licence — everyone who fishes needs one, by law. Buy it online from Fisheries and Oceans Canada before the day; we can't buy it for you, but we'll help you sort it.
Getting there
You meet your skipper at the marina and the boat brings you back to the same marina when the time is up. Meeting points vary by boat; check the marina for the boat you book. These charters can be booked no later than 1 day before the start time.
Who it suits
A private charter suits groups who want the boat to themselves and the freedom to set their own pace — sightseeing, celebrations, birthdays, anniversaries, and relaxed gatherings. Group size depends on the boat, so match the boat to the number of people you are bringing. Food and drinks are not served on board, so this is not for anyone expecting catering as part of the charter.
Bring
- · Food and drinks — none are served on board
- · Tip or gratuity, if you wish to give one — it is not included

Questions people ask about this one
- Is the boat private to my group?
- Yes. Your group has the deck to itself the whole way, and you set the pace.
- Are food and drinks included?
- No. Food and drinks are not included and are not served on board.
- Where does the charter go?
- Most of these charters cruise along Vancouver's downtown waterfront — the skyline on one side and the North Shore mountains on the other. The route is yours to shape, and the boat returns to the same marina.
- How far ahead do I need to book?
- These charters can be booked no later than 1 day before the start time.
- Is there a captain on board?
- Yes. A captain runs the boat and the day's call on plans is the captain's.
How a custom trip works
- What am I looking at?
- A day that has already been run — a real boat, a real crew, a real route. What you see is what it was, including the price it ran at.
- Is the date fixed?
- No. Pick a day and we check it with the boat and the crew before anything is confirmed. Real boats keep changing plans, so this takes a little time rather than a click.
- Will my price be the same?
- The price shown is the price this day ran at. Yours may differ — season, fuel, crew, how many of you there are. If it changes, we tell you what changed before you pay.
- Can I change the trip itself?
- Any part of it — route, hours, seats, where you board, food, what the day is for. You don't edit it here: you talk it through with us. Tell Yara what you have in mind and we work out a version together, with its own price.
- Who am I talking to?
- Yara. AI, working with the Yahull team.
