The day

This is a class-based fishing ticket run on a 3-Star fishing boat. The day heads across the Strait of Georgia from a Delta departure point toward Nanaimo-area fishing waters, with the captain choosing the exact spots based on tides, weather and fish activity. Expect a West Coast sea-fishing day: open-water cruising, hands-on fishing time and big-water scenery. The 3-Star Comfort Class boat has an enclosed cabin and helm for shelter, cushioned seating with more usable space, an enclosed restroom, a basic galley, and weather protection.

  • · Meet the boat at its Delta departure point.
  • · Cross the Strait toward the Nanaimo-area fishing waters.
  • · The captain picks the day's spots by tide, weather and fish activity, and you fish the open water.
  • · The boat brings you back to the same dock.

Your captain decides where you fish, what you fish for and which fish you can keep — following the DFO rules in force on the day. Rules change through the season; your captain has the final say.

Your BC tidal waters sport fishing licence — everyone who fishes needs one, by law. Buy it online from Fisheries and Oceans Canada before the day; we can't buy it for you, but we'll help you sort it.

Getting there

You meet the boat at its Delta departure point. From there you cross the Strait toward the Nanaimo-area fishing waters and return to the same dock at the end. The day runs about 8 hours. You can book no later than 1 day before the start time.

Who it suits

This day suits people who want a full open-water sea-fishing trip with hands-on fishing time and a long crossing of the Strait of Georgia. The boat carries up to 12 people and has an enclosed cabin, cushioned seating, an enclosed restroom and weather protection for shelter when conditions shift. It is a long day on open water, so it may not suit those who are not comfortable with big-water crossings or a full 8-hour trip.

How a custom trip works

What am I looking at?
A day that has already been run — a real boat, a real crew, a real route. What you see is what it was, including the price it ran at.
Is the date fixed?
No. Pick a day and we check it with the boat and the crew before anything is confirmed. Real boats keep changing plans, so this takes a little time rather than a click.
Will my price be the same?
The price shown is the price this day ran at. Yours may differ — season, fuel, crew, how many of you there are. If it changes, we tell you what changed before you pay.
Can I change the trip itself?
Any part of it — route, hours, seats, where you board, food, what the day is for. You don't edit it here: you talk it through with us. Tell Yara what you have in mind and we work out a version together, with its own price.
Who am I talking to?
Yara. AI, working with the Yahull team.
